M-MAYBE

An artist talk on the links between pop world and real world, and the moment when the speed of new events overtakes artistic concepts.

What does it mean to picture the future?
How do we then read the past?
And most intertwined: how does our perception of the past changes, if we’re already living in a former future?

Sebastian Utzni

Sebastian Utzni is a story collector and storyteller, and a visual artist working between and across various disciplines.
«I believe that everything is probably connected. I am not searching directly for a single world formula, but instead I am trying to make sense of all these connections.»

«My work has no direct political message. I am not expressing what people should think or how they should act. For me my work is more about making things visible. I try to create tools that allow people to start thinking or feeling about things happening.»

Recent exhibitions include: NADA New York 2018, Palais de Beaux Arts (BOZAR) Brussels 2018, Art Rotterdam 2017, Herrmann Germann Contemporary Zurich 2017, o.T. Raum für aktuelle Kunst Luzern 2017, Haus Konstruktiv Zurich 2016, Helmhaus Zurich 2016, Kunstmuseum Olten 2016 etc.

Additionally, Sebastian Utzni works as co-head of the BA course Art & Art Education at the Lucerne School of Art and Design.
