‘Prototyping Camera Arts’ was an installation during the Open Days of the Lucerne School of Art and Design on Friday 31 November and Saturday 1 December 2012.
Camera Arts is a new study program which enters a new area for photography, contemporary image craft and digital media. The exhibition has been developed with first year Camera Arts students in cooperation with conceptual artist and designer Coralie Vogelaar and Evert Ypma, head of the Camera Arts program.
Six ‘scripts’, each emphasizing on particular interactions between visitors, social media and photography, convey the actual and future orientation of the Camera Arts program: photography and image, relationships between people, images and things, visual narratives and transmedia storytelling. Student teams worked on each script and decided how to handle to various (visual) interactions.
On the walls first year students’ work has been presented, beamed and screened in the context of existing historical and contemporary photographic production.
