In our research we contacted communication experts, active in the media field, who shared their
knowledge and thoughts on the different phenomena on the platform.
Prof. Dr. Axel Schmidt is specialized
on interaction and modern media studies. He is a professor and researcher at the Univerisity Mannheim and
the Leibniz-Institut for German Language.
His excellent research papers such as "Making Let's Plays watchable"
(Marx, Konstanze/ Schmidt, Axel; 2019)
bring a lot of insight into the world of modern commonly used content platforms and the communication dynamics
happening on them. We sat down with Prof. Dr. Axel Schmidt and asked him about such topics as
language, communication, interaction and exclusivity on Twitch.
Talking to experts of communication, content creators and experienced users of Twitch was a great way to dive deeper into this interesting platform. They provided us with insights and knowledge that helped us in the creation of this project.
